About the event
The Monte Festa Fort is one of the most important Italian military structures of the early 20th century in Friuli Venezia Giulia . Part of the defensive system of the Upper Tagliamento-Fella Valley, together with the forts of Osoppo , Monte Ercole , and Chiusaforte , it was able to control potential invasions from the confluence of the Fella and Tagliamento rivers, as well as from the Val del Lago. Its construction dates back to 1910 and is connected by a large 8-kilometer military road that climbs from Interneppo to the top of the mountain, at an altitude of 1,060 meters.
A scenic route of medium-high difficulty that leads to the only Italian fort that did not surrender after the defeat of Caporetto. You can read its very interesting history online.
